AB Captioning & CART provides broadcast and CART captioning in English and French. As a boutique firm, we pride ourselves in providing the highest level of accuracy in captioning services. Our team of experienced captioners have between 15 and 40 years of industry experience, the capacity to provide writing speeds exceeding 250 words per minute, and an accuracy rate of 98% or higher.
Our team consists of more than 25 English and French captioners that are experts in broadcast captioning and CART. They have experience, knowledge, and technical troubleshooting acumen with outputting captions in stenographic shorthand to encoders and through streaming software. They have development large dictionaries and databases that cover many topics to be able to provide the most accurate, reliable, readable captions.
Our captioners hold certifications, which include continuing education and ethics requirements.
All captioners are graduates of certified court reporting or captioning programs, and maintain memberships in the professional organizations of their respective province(s) including the following:

COMPANY HISTORY
AB Captioning & CART was founded in 2003 and later incorporated in 2016 by Sandra German. Sandra pioneered CART in Alberta in 1989 and began broadcast captioning in 2002. With her many years of experience working in broadcast captioning and providing CART, she obtained a thorough understanding of what it takes to provide accurate, detailed, and accessible communications. What started in Alberta grew to what is now a nationally-renowned remote CART captioning company. Her love for captioning and CART led to the growth of AB Captioning & CART.
In August of 2022, AB Captioning & CART was acquired by Dash Reporting Services. With this acquisition, the companies plan to continue their shared commitment to promote, strengthen, and advance the profession of CART captioning and court reporting across North America and worldwide. With complementary goals, these two market-leading providers of CART captioning and court reporting services will work together to elevate the consumer experience.
